today, I went to start the machine and it won't power/boot up. The power light comes on and I can hear the motor starting (so to speak), but there is no "bong" sound and the computer never fully powers up.
I've tried to bootup from the OS9, OS8 and PowerComputing OS7 CDS, but I still can't get the computer to fully power up, and still no "bong" sound.
even weirder, the restart button on the HD and the restart command on the keyboard have no effect. I can start the machine from the keyboard or the main power button on the HD, but can't restart in anyway.
I've tried disconnecting everything, then reconnecting them. I just have the keyboard, monitor cable and power cable connected to the HD. I opened up the shell to see if something had shifted loose, but couldn't find anything obvious.
any ideas?
thanks JT
