have you tried selecting the cd from the control panel startup disk?

Am I missing something here? I have a PowerBase 180 that will not boot from the CD when holding down the C key. (Regardless of whether I start from the keyboard or the power switch, or the reset button).
It reads the CD once Mac OS 8 installs, but it won't boot from the stinking master CD. (Not a copy).
Any suggestions??????
I want to repartition the drive and put on Yellow Dog Linux.
