Sorry, I should have noted it was an SCSI drive. An internal Firewire CD-Rw drive would be Peachy keeno. At a cost of $46.00 at my front door, it's a bit much to put in an old machine but it would be so convienant.

I've a 5 port USB card I bought yesterday at Frys for $7.95.

I've a Que external CD-WR drive, but tend to use my eMac for burning disks.

It's so much hassle, configuring ethernet to transfer information between the computers. It halts the Apple Talk access to the printers. (No one ever said it was going to be easy)

I bought a HP internal CD-RW on ebay. It was pitched as a Mac item.
After an hour of contacting HP sites ... I found there was no driver
for it that worked on a Mac.

Was this an IDE drive? I was considering putting a DVD player ad CD-RW from
an HP Pavilion 7960 into a G3 tower. No Go?
