I went to my computer tonight and no lights - and can't start it!!
Changed out surge protector, still no luck. (A lamp plugged in does
light.) Checked plugs, all tight.

We figure it's the power supply.?

If we order one from Galaxyhp, is it a "plug and play" thing? Does it
come with directions? Can we neophytes at repairing computers do
this?? (It sure would be a lot better than buying a new computer)

We appreciate any advice. Thanks

Bill and Olga - both retired and loving it.

Not to knock Galaxyhp, but you can get a power supply for $20-30.00 at about any geek store. The nice thing about owning a clone is that some parts do not have to be big buck Apple only items.

You can use just about any "standard ATX" power supply in your PTP and is an fairly easy job to swap it out, just remember where everything plugs in.
And be careful to check all internal cable connections when you are finished just in case something was "bumped" loose.
