This sort of thing happens occasionally with a couple of other very active listserves that I participate in. I finally created a new email address just for listserves so that my regular email is not affected by or buried in the deluge of nonsense. I can just ignore them if I'm too busy to react or on the road, at the mercy of web-based interfaces, dialup connections, etc. Works like a charm, at least I guess until my ISP's POP server account overflows (hasn't happened yet).
Those of your who are unsubscribing are going to feel mighty foolish when it turns out that message number 18,347 from Mike has tonight's winning lottery numbers embedded in it!
