Depends on your mail server... I have my own server which is 
slackware linux based, so I could have used procmail to create a 
filter and delete them at the server level when they came in, but I 
did not.   I was away from home when this happened, and I was on 
dialup.  I just created a filter in Eudora (on OSX) and sent them to 
the trash automatically when they downloaded.  It took a couple of 
hours, but I was not at the computer while they were downloading.

The best thing to do would be to have the mail-list (listmon where 
are you?) install a flood control.  This would limit these types of 
loops.

I tried to see if I could go to my server and delete all the messages in the
inbox. I could find no way of doing that. I ended up downloading all 3600+
messages to my Outlook Express e-mail software and deleting from there. But
It wasted a lot of my time. I'm going to check with my server sysops to see
if we can get a better way to handle this.
Anybody have an idea on how to kill all the messages in the inbox without
having to download them to the local harddisk? What if I was on dial-up?
