Thanks Barbara,

none of the things I listed are currently possible (AFAICT). I was
wondering whether there had been any discussion here on the list
about them and/or whether anyone from CTMdev had commented about
planned features...

No, you can't. (I have four IMAP accounts)

not possible yet.

Alas, no, it doesn't. You can re-sync the whole server, but you
cannot specify particular IMAP mailboxes which should be regularly
checked (e.g. for new messages which were filtered into them by the
server)

It works fine right now. Impressive actually what they have achieved
so far, but very few attributes are indexed. It could be a *lot* more
powerful.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you misunderstood me, but that will
be my fault for not being specific. Anyone who has used Mailsmith may
know the term "distributed filtering". If you haven't discovered this
(only possible with Mailsmith or Procmail AFAIK), you haven't
glimpsed what is possible with message filtering. Sorry to say, but
PowerMail's filtering is very weak by comparison.

Anyway, the jist of distributed filtering is that you can have a
cascading system of tiered filters, that operate automatically at
every level of your mailbox hierarchy and can be activated by just
about any change you can think of.

Yes, nested boolean logic is also not currently possible in PM
queries, but what I meant by "smart" was "self-updating" a la the
smart mailboxes currently available in Mail, Thunderbird and (under
the name of "views" in) Entourage.

Nope, not yet implemented.

Yes, and it was only with the possibility to do SMTP with TLS (on
port 25) that I was able to send mail with PM.

PGP can be made to work after a fashion in PM, though I doubt PGP9
works with PowerMail yet. I'm wondering whether e.g. CTM plan to use
the PGP SDK to give users built-in PGP-support ?

See above re: Mailsmith. Different planet. You are right though, it
is technically possible to configure a set-up that will harness
SpamSieve *and* respect ISP-set spam headers. However, CTM could make
this a no-brainer if they implemented a solution that would allow
users to select more than one of the options under:

Spam Filter Assistant -> Evaluate Spam:

thanks again,

mark.
