Yes, it is left on the server.

For a shared POP account, the suggested setting is:
[x] Leave copies of retrieved messages on the server
    [x] Delete from server after [30] days
    [ ] Delete from server when deleting locally
This way, the messages will remain on the server 30 days (more precisely,
they will be deleted when you connect again more than 30 days after the
messages have been retrieved), even if you have deleted them locally in
the meantime.
