DC Cook response:

Respirator Medical Questions:
1. What is your respirator medical frequency? (i.e. 1 year, 2 year ,
3 year) Site personnel have a 2 year frequency, contractors have a 1
year frequency.

2. Are all respirator medicals performed by the station medical
group? Are they out-sourced? Does anyone send their personnel to a
hospital for testing? I mention the hospital option because I hear this
from vendors occasionally. Medicals are administered by a local
Occupational Health Facility, mostly via the questionaire format, but they
can do full physicals as required.

3. If you have a 2 or more year requal frequency, how do you handle
folks who have a medical condition which requires a more frequent
evaluation?
Our respirator medical is treated like a normal qualification on the
plant qual matrix and the due date can be adjusted as needed.

Respirator Cleaning Questions?

(non-RCA respirators)? (i.e. respirator washer, buckets, vendor services,

of shift with vendor (MSA) cleaning materials.

2. What chemicals do you use? Vendor prescribed chemical(MSA)
3. Do you use a manufacturer recommended cleaner & sanitizer (i.e.
MSA Confidence Plus) over the OSHA recommended cleaners? Yes Any issues
with them? No
4. Has anyone ever raised the issue of the cleaners being effective
against H1N1 virus and how have you addressed this issue? No
