For hospital E-kits supplied by the South Texas Project, friskers are response
checked on the lowest scale only using a jig that incorporates thoriated
welding rod as the source. We look for response within a predetermined
acceptance window. Using the thoriated welding rod material as the source
eliminates the need to re-establish the response window due to decay. This
approach was acceptable to the state.

Subject: Powernet: A quick E-Plan instrument question.

Palo Verde would like to know:

How does your site response check friskers, stored in E-Kits offsite, to prior
to use. I.e.. Hospital E-kits

Do you check all ranges to a known value with acceptable pass / fail criteria
or just look for general response / needle deflection?
