Palo Verde provides the following response: Palo Verde uses the Bicron Micro Rem Meter and we calibrate on the X1 position using a Shepherd Model 89 Calibrator and expose the detector to a 150 μR/hr gamma field.

Ginna calibrates our microrem meters on the x1 scale electronically instead of calibrating on that scale against a source. We calibrate the other scales (x10, x100, x1000) against a source. This method is authorized in the tech manual but was challenged. What does your site do? Thanks, Bryan Bryan S. Pell R.E.
