Fermi is implementing use of the iPAM-TX and will still be using the PAM-TRX so
we will have a mixed population. Our workers are pretty familiar with how the
PAM-TRX operates so they aren't an issue. My questions have to do with the
iPAM-TX. Based upon feed back from presentations and other users at the 2010
Mirion users seminar we are conducting training on how the iPAM operates with
our Radiation Protection technicians.

We would like to conduct some sort of familiarization training for the rest of
our users. Any feedback on how and to what level of detail other sites have
trained/familiarized their personnel would be appreciated.

We plan on using the iPAM in the "shake" mode. A worker will take a unit out
of a bin and proceed to log into the RRA. We want them to verify the lights
illuminate, the unit vibrates, and they hear the alarm when the unit is turned
on. We are using version 1.08 of Sentinel so we don't have the option
available to have them comfirm they heard them. Do you do this and if so how
did you implement it. Was there any push back from having the workers verify
the alarms thinking thats RPs job? If so, how did you work around that? They
do have to verify the show up on the telemetry screen but that doesn't confirm
the alarms.

Any issues with a mixed population other than workers hoarding the iPAM due to
them being lighter weight, etc.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can be.
