Subject: Powernet: vacuums, blowers and fans in RCA Columbia requests your reply to the following questions. Who issues HEPA vacuums, blowers and fans used in the RCA? Health Physics If you allow fan or blower usage in the RCA, do you control them administratively or with lock and key? Yes. We have a locking device installed on the fan's or coppus blower's plug. Does the HP department lock and control HEPA vacuums to prevent their movement? HEPA ventilation units are not locked to prevent movement, vacuums are locked to prevent movement. We do lock the vacuum sections to prevent unauthorized opening of the vacuums. Are HEPA vacuums used in the RCA tracked with remote dosimetry after they are issued? Some. Examples include vacuums used for Primary S/G maintenance, Transfer Canal decon, Cavity decon, etc. Please send responses to Tim Biese [email protected] Glenn W.
