Columbia Generating Station uses three classifications for radiological risk
assessment, medium risk, elevated risk and high risk. These are in addition to
our Site Wide risk assessment procedure.

Examples of each.
Medium Risk, work in areas >50,000dpm/100cm2 beta-gamma or 20dpm/100cm2 alpha.
Entry into LHRA which do not meet elevated risk criteria.
Elevated Risk, work area dose rates >800 mRem/hr. Work in areas requiring
multiple whole body dosimetry is.
High Risk, extremity dose expected to exceed 5000mRem. Transfer of radioactive
material with dose rates >1000mRem at 30cm.

Subject: Powernet: Radiological Risk

Constellation is benchmarking radiological risk.

Does your site define radiological low, medium, or high risk?

What criteria does your site use to establish low, medium and high radiological
risk? For example, what makes a job radiological high risk?

Thanks,

Bryan
