Subject: RE: Powernet: Quick Hit Benchmarking Questions

Fermi is conducting a "Quick Hit" Benchmarking survey and request information
from other facilities to the following questions:

(1) Does your facility use "Trip Tickets" to access the RRA/RCA? Yes

If so,

A) How many levels or types of tickets based on type of work or activity to be
performed are used? 2, RCA, HRA (white) & LHRA (yellow)

B) What type of radiological briefing is given for each level, (for example
self-briefed or RP briefed)?

RP is not at the RCA boundary 24/7, so RCA entries into non-HRA/LHRA’s may be
self briefed (although RP normally briefs all entries on day shift)

(2) How are work control and the "dose budget" integrated into the RRA/RCA
access process?

Personnel are expected not to receive any dose unless it has been budgeted.
Weekly dose budgets are assigned and these are adjusted during the week by
ALARA for FIN and Emergent activities. ALARA work planners start looking hard
at schedules at T-7 weeks and participate heavily in work planning process.

A) How is the dose budget maintained and updated?

Tracked by using corporate “web tools” which access data in Passport Total
Exposure.
