Palo Verde provides the following response:

When a hot spot is identified:

1. There is no formal program to evaluate the condition. An informal
request is made of Operations to flush the spot, otherwise it is typically
posted as a hot spot and left in place.

2. Currently, the RP ALARA/Planning tracks and trends hot spots.

3. No formal procedures or program per se, recently our RP ALARA/Planning
group has been able to incorporate an ALARA hold on work orders performed near
hot spots and if place on the work mechanism a formal flush request is sent to
Operations to determine if a flush can be performed

Subject: Powernet: Hot Spots

What is the process that you use for hot spot once they have been identified?

4. Is there a program that you use to do an evaluation on when it should
be removed or if it should be left in place.

5. Who tracks your hot spots, (I.e. RP, Alara).

6. Would you be willing to share your procedures or program with us?

Thanks for any information.
