From a work standpoint, do you place any restrictions on individuals with radioactive seed implants, do you remove an individual’s TLD (dose of record device) while the seeds are implanted or through their period of effectiveness? Yes, they are restricted from the RCA and we retain their TLD. 2. If the individual has measurable external dose rates do you monitor them for potential impact on other station personnel? No. 3. Do you restrict their work area locations or proximity to other personnel? Yes, they are restricted from the RCA. 4. Do you allow these individuals to enter the RCA and or the Radiological Restricted Area while the seeds are implanted? They are allowed in the Protected Area but not in the RCA. 5. Do you make any other exceptions or accommodations during their period of treatment? They are given a signed letter which indicates they may bypass the portal monitors at the Personnel Access Facility. 6. If an individual has a hard to detect radionuclide such as Cs-131, do you monitor or control their activities? We haven't seen this yet.
