Response from Columbia: We just began using the OSLN dosimeter from Landauer this monitoring period. I have not seen any cracking or breakage of the case. However, I have had several occurrences of the plastic pin breaking. The pin essentially holds all parts of the dosimeter together. Landauer is aware of this defect and I was told they are working on an improved design.

We recently saw some with damage, and after investigating, found quite a few more, ranging from mild cracking to broken pieces in the clip area. We replaced them and sent them to the vendor to take a look at.
