Sent by: [email protected]

Do you apply the below ANSI N323A-1997 Section 4.8 statement regarding
source response checks to your Emergency Planning instruments?

4.8 Source response check

To ensure proper operation of the instrument between calibrations, each
instrument (with the exception of neutron instruments and high-dose
equivalent rate photon instruments) shall be checked with a source during
operation at least daily or prior to each intermittent use, whichever is
less frequent. If at any time the instrument response to the source
differs from the reference reading by more than 20% (for any photon
instrument the reading should be at least ten times background), the
instrument shall be returned to the calibration facility for calibration or
for maintenance, repair, and recalibration, as required. [ ...] Reference
readings should be obtained for one point on each scale or decade used.

Thank you!
