STP has experienced the same issue with fire extinguishers. We have used an Accuscan whole body counter with a "free release count time" to clear these items.

We recently went from a SAM-9 to a CRONOS at RCA boundary. Prior to the CRONOS we had to frisk these out to release, but now that we have the CRONOS the RCA fire extinguishers fit inside the CRONOS monitor so they must be released using this monitor per our procedures. We recently had a fire extinguisher that failed the CRONOS with extinguisher contents still inside but that passed the CRONOS once we completely discharged the fire extinguisher.
