Sequoyah uses 0.1 micron filters online in the RCS filter (letdown
system). We change that to a 1.0 micron just prior to an outage. We
use layered macroporous resins in our demin beds. The combination
cleans up the crud burst without excessive change out of the filters.
We replace with the 0.1 micron prior start up.

Subject: Powernet: Filter Micron Size

Arkansas Nuclear One Radiation Protection would like to know:

1. What is the micron size of your "Letdown / Make-up / RHR"
filters used during normal operations?

2. Do you change size prior to an outage for crud-burst clean up?

3. If so, what size do you change to?
