For high activity smears Columbia does not put >50k cpm in our bench counter.
We have a smear holder Ludlum 43-5 alpha scintillation detector and a Ludlum
Model 3 with scaler feature to do timed smear counts and count the smears right
at the location.

Subject: Powernet: Alpha ratio for high activity smears

Hello,
Which instruments do you use for counting high activity smears (> 50,000cpm) to
determine beta-gamma/alpha ratios?
At Diablo, we are currently using the BC-4 and SAC-4.
