Palo Verde uses the Thermo iPCM-12, although it has a radon rejection feature
we have not yet utilized it. We also have a CM-11 frisker to aid in radon
identification; however, workers must clear the PCM prior to being released
from the RCA. We inform plant personnel that wearing cotton and using fabric
softeners in the wash and dry cycle will reduce radon alarms. We are also
presently evaluating other anti-static measures such as static guard

Subject: Powernet: How do you deal with Radon at your plant?

With the dry weather in Southern California, we get a big Radon affect. What
works at your facility to allow the workforce ease in exiting RCA's effected by
Radon during the monitoring process? Do you have Radon discriminating
monitoring equipment?
