Years ago Browns Ferry did this. I do not remember seeing anything when
I surveyed it. It was a reduced power They have not done this in a
while that I know of. We do not have Mark I containment though, I
believe we are Mark 4

Subject: Powernet: Question re: Pulling Rx Cavity Shield Blocks Prior to
Shutdown for BWRs with Mark I Containment

This question is for BWRs with a Mark I Containment. Monticello is
considering pulling one layer of Rx Cavity Shield Blocks prior to
shut-down, but at a reduced power level. If your station has experience
with this activity, at what power level were the shield blocks removed
and what dose rates were encountered?

Thank you.
