Palo Verde provides the following response:

At Palo Verde we allow them to be released from the RCA; however, they need to
be released by RP using a SAM. If they enter a contaminated area they
understand the risk. We have a "zero release policy "geared towards common
(hand tools and have made exceptions for items such as these.

Subject: Powernet: Release of ESOMs Data Loggers

Robinson operations personnel have implemented a hand held electronic device
(ESOMs) that they use to document data on their shift rounds instead of their
old paper logs. We are not quite sure how this device fits in with our "zero
release policy".

Questions:

* Does your site allow these or similar portable electronic data
logging devices (no fan unit) to be released from your RCA?

* If yes, Does your site require that the devices
only be used in clean areas?

Does your site allow the devices to be released directly by operations
personnel using a small article monitor, or do you require them to be released
by RP personnel?
