We are essentially the same. Last inspection we had by the NRC, I believe
their inspection guide for the GEM5/PM-7s refers to detection of a 70- 80 nCi
activity. The vendor was able to supply a 67 and 68 nCi Cs-137 source, which
is what we set the alarms at for the GEM 5. We set the PM-7 higher 100n/ci
because it is able to detect/alarm with the 67 nCi check source in accordance
with vendor manual/publications instructions.

Our SAM and ARGOS alarms were set based on the original source activity was
5000 dpm and subsequent normal decay.

Subject: Powernet: Alarm Set-Points

Ginna uses the following alarm set-points following our sensitivity studies:

SAM 11/12 - 4,500 dpm
GEM-5 Portal - 65 nCi
ARGOS WB Monitor - 4,000 dpm/65 nCi
PM-7 Portal - 65 nCi
PCM-1C WB Monitor - 67 dps or 4,020 dpm

I am writing up a benchmark and would appreciate it if folks out there would
share their set-points, so we can see where we stand with our peers.

Thanks,

Bryan
