Duke Energy would like to know the following:
Source isotope(s) used for calibration of: 1. Portal Monitors - Cs-137 2. Personnel Contamination Monitors - Tc-99 3. Tool Monitors (SAMs) - PWR Cs-137, BWR Co-60 Source isotope(s) used for daily/weekly source checks of: 1. Portal Monitors - Cs-137 75 nCi, while BWR also using longer lived Cs-137, must ensure the PM would respond to 35nCi of Co-60 which is the actual plant source term. EPRI recommended transitioning from Co-60 to longer lived Cs-137 when possible, but a BWR would still be expected to meet 35 nCi Co-60 performance standards with a Cs-137 cal and source check. 2. Personnel Contamination Monitors - Tc-99 3. Tool Monitors (SAMs) - PWR Cs-137, BWR Co-60 Glen Vickers Exelon Corp RP Technical Lead, CHP 815-216-2723 (work/cell) From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Byrum, William F Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 12:31 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Powernet: Calibration and Source Check sources Duke Energy would like to know the following: Source isotope(s) used for calibration of: 4. Portal Monitors 5. Personnel Contamination Monitors 6. Tool Monitors (SAMs) Source isotope(s) used for daily/weekly source checks of: 4. Portal Monitors 5. Personnel Contamination Monitors 6.
