Beaver Valley 1 is in a refueling outage and having problems with the operation of the fuel handling manipulator/mast...specifically the grippers. Beaver Valley is requesting input regarding removal of the fuel handling manipulator/mast from the reactor cavity/refueling canal to perform maintenance. The request is to place manipulator on refuel floor to effect repairs on the grippers. Questions are:
1. Have you ever performed maintenance on the manipulator removed from the refueling canal? 2. If so, could you share how controls were designed and implemented?
