Cook requires the Radwaste supervisor to have the training, but not all
supervisors of qualified radwaste shippers (mostly Health Physicist Staff).

At Columbia Generating Station, we have a requirement that the Supervisor of
our qualified Radwaste/RAM shipping folks also be trained (although not
necessarily qualified) in LLRW packaging and transport. Although the original
basis for this requirement is NRC IE Bulletin 79-19, which describes required
training for all personnel involved in LLRW packaging and transport, it does
not specifically identify the supervisor as requiring training. Does your site
require the supervisor of your qualified shippers to be similarly trained?

Thanks,
