Hi, Diablo Canyon’s response:
We are a PWR 1) Mirion TLD 2) Semi-annual 3) We were on 3 times a year with our own TLDs because of fade issues. When we outsourced in January 2014 we went to semi-annual due to the very low fade of the vendor TLDs. We did this both for cost and labor savings. We also allowed TLDs to go home at that point as well. The take home process has proved to be problematic with issues associated with unexpected highly variable backgrounds and problems with getting TLDs returned in a timely manner. We are evaluating that process and will probably stop allowing TLDs to leave site in late 2015. Thanks, Linda From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ochoa, Alysse K. TLD, OSL, etc.) do you use? 2. How often do you change them out to be read? (ex. Quarterly, semi-annually, annually, etc.) 3. Is there any particular reason for the frequency chosen for dosimeter reads? Thank you. Alysse Alysse K.
