1. Positive WBC would be greater than MDA for the counter being used or an unknown peak that is close to Co-60 peak (1173 keV) with a reasonable uncertainty. Diagnostic in vivo would be positive if it is greater than MDA for the counter being used.
2. Positive WBC are documented in Sentinel software under the internal dose tab. 3. A ROR SAP notification (CR) is written containing the following information: * Factual information surrounding the deficiency using who (worker classification/title - no names), what, when, and where type information. · Complete, concise, description of the occurrence. Include relevant survey(s) and/or RWP number(s). · A description of any immediate action taken in response to the incident. Survey results are documented in our electronic survey program. A personnel contamination event report would be used if are software is unavailable. 4. The threshold for a PCE requiring skin dose calculations. Level 1 PCE - greater than or equal to 100 ncpm to less than or equal to 5000 ncmp Level 2 PCE - greater than 5000 ncpm less than or equal to 50,000 ncpm Level 3: PCE - greater than 50,000 ncpm Note: Estimated dose associated with a frisker reading greater than 50,000 ncpm β-γ measured at ½ inch by direct frisk and an assumed exposure time of 5 hours is approximately 500 mrem (1% of the annual 10CFR20 dose limit). Deep dose equivalent (DDE) is assessed when a particle of 1 μCi or more is located on the skin for more than an hour. For a Level 3 PCE we calculate the dose using Varskin. For a level 2 PCE if the contamination was on the skin for greater than five hours then we evaluate to determine if a dose calculation is required. If there is low levels of contamination present or potentially present for greater than one shift we would consider an evaluation to ensure no dose limits were exceeded.
