HPS-Power Reactor Section (PRS) members: Every two years the PRS holds elections to fill half of the board of directors' positions, which each run for four years. In 2020 we have the following positions open. The individuals whose tenure is up have all done an exceptional job in their roles, with many taking on the position for an extended period of time. All of that said, we need to find folks to fill these roles and continue and improve on the efforts to help make the Section better and keep the enthusiasm going. The positions needing to be filled are:
President-Elect: The President-Elect shall perform duties as delegated by the President and, in the absence of the President, shall assume the duties of the President. The President-Elect serves for a term of two years then advances to the office of President for a two-year term. Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for the proper accounting of all assets of the Section. The Treasurer may be assisted by the Executive Secretary as authorized by the Board. The duties of the Treasurer are: * Submit a financial record of the Section to the Board annually, * Bill and collect all funds due the Section, * Pay all obligations of the Section, * Assure administration of Section funds, * Transfer all funds and properties of the Section under his or her control to the new Treasurer, * Oversee the investment of Section funds according to established policy. Director (three open positions): Directors serve a four-year term. No specific duties of a director are outlined in bylaws. The terms of the newly elected officers and directors begin at the annual meeting following their election to office, i.e. will start July 2020. If you are interested in taking on one of these roles please: * Review the Section's bylaws so you understand the nominating and voting processes, and the general expectations for meeting attendance and support. * Submit your name and professional biography outline of your activities, indicating which position you are interested in to the Nominating Committee Chair at the address below. Submission needs to be submitted by December 6, 2019 to allow processing and transmission to the Board around January 1st, 2020 so a suitable ballot can be arranged for the election.
