To me, the PS3 is the best choice at the moment.

It is readily available consumer hardware and the recent price drops
make it increasingly attractive.

It is a consistent well known platform; plus the GNU/Linux community
has already done quite a bit of research and work on getting the
hardware going.

My only regret about it is how closed the platform is in certain
hardware aspects.
