So I'm working with Dennis on the first external development server. Once we get this up and people using it we can duplicate the effort. The Labs will be assisting us on the HW front a bit which is very welcomed. It will take a few weeks at least but will keep you updated.
The HW discussion should continue, I think it's healthy but we have to be realistic about any effort to move to another target platform and the level of effort it would take to get there. I think that the one basic community rule applies "The ones who do the most work... have the most say" I will leave it at that :) Toolchain. I was hoping Mark could give us an update on the 3.4.3 sparc work he was doing. This is an effort that does need attention. What we have is functional for the kernel, but now that we are building userland apps some headsup on what we could be facing with the tools going foward would be helpful. Ahh the tarball.. that is still on my list :) As soon as I can the development server up I will use it to create it. This message posted from opensolaris.org
