[pox-dev] How to use a parameter from GUI(for example,POXdesk) to raise different events?

Dear all,     I want to develop a java based GUI which have buttons to choose 
two different modes to handle packet-in messages. For example, if the parameter 
is true, then raise event1 and handled by handler1; if the parameter is false, 
then raise event2, and handled by handler2.     My problem is , how can I pass 
the parameter from the GUI to POX? Any help will be highly appreicated. Best
