VALLETTA, July 16, 2008, (WAFA)-*President Mahmoud Abbas* convened on Tuesday with *President of the Republic of Malta, Mr. Edward Fenech Adami*. President has turned on with President Adami the exerted efforts to push the peace process forward, stressing the necessity for the Israeli side to halt settlements activities and acts that negatively affect the peace process. President Abbas also briefed his counterpart on his initiative for national dialogue and effort exerted by the PNA to reach a peace that ends the conflict in a way that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
