Another Spring: Women Are Capable
RAMALLAH, April 21, 2009 (WAFA)- Another Spring is the title of a documentary
telling the stories of five Palestinian Women going through their daily strife
besides completing their education at Al-Quds Open University, in various
cities of the Palestinian Territory.
“The five women,” said the director Mohammad Al-Lahham, “were selected out of
fifty different women’s success stories, all of which studied or are currently
studying in Al-Quds Open University.” They originate from various social and
geographic environments.
Janette Michelle, is from Beit Sahour town near Bethlehem, Intisar Shaweesh is
from Toubas Camp, Kifaya Mahmoud is from Tulkaerm governorate, Dyala Ghosheh is
from Jerusalem, and Muna Shneina is from Gaza.
These women’s stories reflect a strong determinant point of view, rejecting the
dominant culture that restrains women’s development and reinforcements.
“Women are capable,” added Al-Lahham, “they are more than just partners, they
participate in creating and reinforcing the whole society.”
