Hello all,

Running mprime 23.9.2 on my i686 Linux 2.44.22 (Fedora Core 1), I get a
segfault after "stage 1 GCD":

[Oct 27 10:44] M34201171 stage 1 is 98.49% complete. Time: 769.143 sec.
M34201171 stage 1 complete. 1096498 transforms. Time: 41811.942 sec.
Starting stage 1 GCD - please be patient.
Stage 1 GCD complete. Time: 186.462 sec.
zsh: segmentation fault mprime -d

If I restart mprime (I use "mprime -d"), it seems to start again with the
P-1 factoring:

pc31 ~ $ mprime -d
Mersenne number primality test program version 23.9
Starting P-1 factoring on M34201171 with B1=380000, B2=7125000
Chance of finding a factor is an estimated 5.07%
P-1 on M34201171 with B1=380000, B2=7125000

But this factoring has already been done, with exact same values of B1
and B2. So, the two things I ask are:

-- There seems to be a bug in the code; I don't think it is a problem
with my computer, since it is heavily used for number crunching (one year
of scientific computation almost full-time) and I never got any
suspicious segfault. Can I do something to help you fix it?

-- I'd like to reproduce it, but the program wants to do the P-1
factoring again. Is it normal? Shouldn't it be checkpointed somewhere?
Since I'll have to wait 11 hours to eventually see the segfault again, I
wonder if it's worth doing...

Thanks for any help and/or explanations, and I hope I'm not too confused
about what's going on.

Franois-Xavier
