Wow, that's something. Largest known non-Mersenne prime and all, and the first prime ever to beat a GIMPS-discovered prime (?) :-)



Not really the first. There is another prime 5359 * 2^5054502 + 1 with 1521561 digits beating 37th Mersenne prime,
and a number of Generalized Fermat primes beating 35th Mersenne prime.
