Hi all,
I had a look at the source and found that the mprime binary for linux is compiled with "-mcpu=486" - which might be inefficient if using a Pentium4 or Xeon processor.
Given how much of the actual computation is done with George's amazingly well-optimised code, I don't believe recompiling helps perceptibly; I recompiled the Windows version several years ago, and got no more than 1% changes in the iteration timing.
