my understanding is that the most GIMPS-friendly use of cpu resources in a hyperthreaded PC can be achieved by running two copies of the standard windoze prime95, one doing LL testing, the other doing factoring. this is what i am doing on a coworker's linux PC . he doesn't want me to turn off hyperthreading. we don't care how much heat or power is used - the more the merrier.
