To be honest, I think the list's value was reduced a lot when the forums
opened and (I presume) all the mathematical discussion moved there.

It's still useful as an announcement list, IMO, but it's not a very fruitful
source of discussion about mathematics anymore. Pity -- it's given me a lot
of fun over the years, even though 98% of the maths went way over my head the
first year (and then probably 95% the next year, and 90% the next year --
with some luck I might be able to understand 30% of what you guys are talking
about after four years in university :-) ).
