My dictionary says "factor" is a verb in addition to begin a noun. It
also says "factorise" (or -ize, your choice) is a verb. I believe the
meaning of either usage is clear from the context, from any point of
view.
I also respectfully suggest that discussion of differences in worldwide
English spelling and pronunciation ("correct" or not) is off-topic for
this mailing list.
