Some parts of reality byte! A thought for new rules: To allow for the previous 6 "found" but not allow for overlap and at the same time allow for the possibility that 6 have not yet been found. Funding could be accrued for them with a time limit.
For example if a 150X10*6 were found on 1/1/2009 then only M46 would be eligible for shared $$ until 5 more were found, if any, within say 2 years. --- On Tue, 9/16/08, George Woltman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: George Woltman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [Prime] Two new Mersenne primes announced To: "The Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search list" <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 10:39 AM On Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 9:39 AM, Michael Kilfoyle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Will #46 be considered for prize sharing $$ since it is within the previous 6 (based on numerical sequence) even though found out of sequence? I'd like to, but the award rules seem pretty clear that M37156667 does not qualify. I'm sure it will be a topic of discussion when we write new rules for the next EFF award. _______________________________________________ Prime mailing list [email protected] http://hogranch.com/mailman/listinfo/prime _______________________________________________ Prime mailing list [email protected] http://hogranch.com/mailman/listinfo/prime
