I am running Prime95 v25.9 build 4 on a dual-core Pentium under Win XP Media Center Edition SP 3.
Things had been fine for a while (a couple months or so), doing either trial factoring or ECM. Then a few days ago the Worker #2 window stopped working. The banner says Starting, and the text area has three lines: Worker starting Setting affinity... Using FFT length 96 The Task Manager showed virtually complete CPU utilization, so I assumed the process had detached itself from the window. Going through the Test -- Stop menu stopped Worker #1 and the CPU dropped to around 50%. The condition did not change after rebooting again. A reboot or two later I did a Test -- Stop again, and now Worker #1 is not running, Worker #2 still gives only 3 lines of output, CPU is at 50%, and Test -- Continue is grayed out so I can't get Worker #1 going. Any suggestions on how to get both workers running normally again?
