What are the compelling reasons that I should chose cups over lp?

PS
Thanks for the prompt responses.

Engineers in SUN tends to like abbreviations though historical there
was a limitation of the length of package name. Now the new max length
has been extended to 32 which gives a bit more options. Also It may have

also be ended with 'r' to refer to packages to install on root related
and 'u; to refer to user as the general recommendeation. However, I
think this is going away with IPS.

get installed without this important dependency? Also, how to integrate
this with apache2.2.

The problem is that there is limited room on live CD and initial
install. ipp-listener is part of the LP print system module, that is why

it get pull in, but its dependency on apache can't not be automatically
pulled in as that will simply ended up witha live DVD :)

If you are going to use ipp, why do you try CUPS?
You need SUNWcups, SUNWcups-libs
The you can switch by running
/usr/sbin/print-service -s cups
to switch to cups
or
/usr/sbin/print-service -s lp
to switch to lp.

No sure how to do apache2.2, check http://pkg.opensolaris.org is apache
is there or not.
