Hi,
in my previous work environment, i found it was very easy to add a
network printer, and was very impressed.
in the new place, i was trying to do the same for a HP LaserJet 3055
printer.
when selecting to add "New Network Printer", it failed with a popup
saying "Error" with no other messages.
i'm using "files" as the naming service:
the parameters i used are:
printer name: hp3055 (set to be the same as the hostname of printer)
printer make: hp
printer model: HP LaserJet (this is because i cannot find the exact match
for HP LaserJet 3055).
Destination: hp3055 (this is set to the IP of the printer in /etc/hosts)
Protocal: TCP
the console window did not show anything -- it was blank all the time.
what did i need to specify differently ?
