Print Team, The old printer has died and I need a new printer... I am looking for a QUALITY printer or multi-function.
What printers work "Out of the Box" with SNV Presto and related features as of today and/or snv_87 X86? Minimum Capabilities, in priority order: 1. Detected by Presto and/or simple "Add network printer" GUI. 2. PPD or related files included with snv packages or automatically downloaded by Presto/etc... 3. Color and Black/White printing (ABSOLUTE MUST) a. Postscript Files b. Firefox/Thunderbird c. Evince d. StarOffice e. Text 4. Status notifications "Printer XYZ is out of paper." and automatic print continuation after adding paper... (Old printer flushed the queue when an "out of paper" condition occured...) Bonus Capabilities, nice to have.... but could live without: 5. Color and Black/White printing options: a. Simplex/Duplex printing b. prettyprint (Especially for printing Java or C code...) c. npage (1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 16) d. npage ordering (topdownleftright, leftrighttopdown, topdownrightleft, ...) e. Banner or NoBanner printing f. other PPD options... 6. Color and Black/White copying (could be a seperate box if needed...) 7. Color and Black/White scanning (supported or inprocess by snv_87 X86) 8.
