The Sun boxes are servers and none have displays or keyboards. I do have vnc configured. I did try pinging and telnet but both fail. I beleive the firewall around the Sun servers is blocking ping but not telnet. Thanks for the ideas/help Glen (PS. The network guy installed new cabling to the HP4350 today (not related to my problem) and it is working. Still can not ping but telnet does work. I discovered the HP4000 is using a Linksys to connect to the network - perhaps that's part of the problem.) This message posted from opensolaris.org
