I am trying to setup my printer. The printer is a Brother HL-1440 that is connected to the network. Since I come from the Linux world, I always adressed the printer as lpd://192.168.1.10/brotherhl1440 . In Solaris I have problems with the syntax of printmgr: - name service seems to be "files" since nothing else is offered (?) - new network printer: - name of printer: free I guess - description: free - printer brand: Brother - model: HL-1440 - error notifications: super user - path: ??? >>> That I don't know at all. http://192.168.1.10/brotherhl1440 ??? - protocol: TCP (that's only a wild guess - could be BSD or URL too ...) the rest is ok.
So I have to problems: - path to the printer (totrally lost since there is no example) - protocol (I think it's TCP ...) If someone would be so kind and could enlighten me? This message posted from opensolaris.org
